Honda Engine Support Blocks – 1.5T & 2.0L Hybrid

These Engine Support Blocks are designed to support the engine when the side engine mount is removed during repairs on Honda 1.5L Turbo and 2.0L Hybrid vehicles.

Normally, once the side engine mount is removed, the engine must be supported with a jack under the oil pan or by lowering the vehicle onto support blocks. Both methods can limit movement of the vehicle on the lift and may require the engine to be repositioned or supported again each time the vehicle is raised or lowered.

These blocks provide another solution. Each block sits directly on the subframe and supports the shank of a long head bolt temporarily threaded into the engine oil pan. Once positioned, the engine is supported from the subframe, eliminating the need to continuously support the oil pan from underneath.

This allows the vehicle to be raised and lowered on the lift while maintaining engine support, making repairs that require repeated movement of the vehicle much more convenient.

The applicable vehicle is printed directly into the face of each block. When installed, the vehicle/application marking facing you identifies the correct side of the block to use.

Installation

Thread the appropriate long bolt into the oil pan and position the correct Engine Support Block on the subframe beneath the bolt shank.

The blocks are designed so the bolt shank sits snugly against the appropriate support surface when properly positioned.

1.5T Civic Note: The 1.5T Civic engine sits slightly lower than the other applications. Because of this, the oil pan will need to be lifted slightly with a pry bar to create enough clearance to position the support block underneath the bolt.

Once the block is properly positioned, verify that the bolt shank is seated securely against the block before removing support from the engine.

Important

These blocks are intended to support the engine while the side engine mount is removed. Always verify that the block is correctly positioned on the subframe and that the support bolt is properly seated against the block before removing the engine mount.

Notes

• These tools are fully 3D printed. Minor surface variations or small discrepancies in the print are normal due to the printing process and do not affect performance.
• Embedded magnets are used to help retain the blocks on the subframe during positioning.
• Certain brake cleaners may cause surface discoloration. This does not compromise tool function
